My Final Superkart Race DEA 250 - 2nd Place @CadwellParkofficial (4K)
Here is my final race before retiring from Superkarting, after 13 years of go karting and 6 years of superkarts couldn't have been a better finish for myself.

These DEA 250cc single engines are really strong.
The 250cc singles are the best long circuit category for people to go racing on a budget and still get to drive something very fast and exciting. Those DEA engines are great for being more kart-specific than motocross engines, how was their reliabilty?
I think you running a bit rich mate. Check the air pressure and jet down. Ps. I've raced Cadwell 20 times.. good luck...

Just curious as to what engine you are using? I used to work as a mechanic for a 250 Formula E team back in the 1990's and basically just about everyone was using Rotax Twins.

The horsepower (based on a 250 Rotax twin cylinder tandem, which is a twin crankshaft motor as it's basically 2 x 125 single cylinder engines stuck together inline) when I was a mechanic for a Formula E Superkart team back in the 1990's was around about 96bhp. I don't know what engine this guy in the video is running. But in Formula E, which was the top class in long circuit Superkart racing, the Rotax Twin was pretty much the only engine to have in order to be competitive. All the top teams such as Anderson, PVP, ZipKart and so on all used the Rotax. The max rpm was around the 14,500-15,000 mark. But you have to take into account that it's a 2 stroke engine and they are inherently 'revvy' motors. The max rpm will also depend (to an extent) on how the motor is set up. There are quite a few variables that can have an effect. For example, exhaust length. You can tune the motor by lengthening and shortening the rear section of the exhaust pipes, (known as 'the stinger'). A shorter stinger gives the motor more bottom end torque, or 'grunt'. Whereas if you lengthen the stinger then the engine will rev a little bit higher and so produce a bit more 'top end' power. Also the air temperature on the day has an effect as the colder the air is, the more dense, or heavier it becomes and will produce more power. But you also have to adjust the fuel/air mixture by 'jetting' the carburettors. This fuel/air mixture has to be adjusted every single day in order to get the engine performing at it's absolute peak. Basically, the aim is go run the engine with the mixture as 'lean' as possible without siezing it up. Which is unfortunately very easy to do. The problem is that 2 strokes rely on oil being blended with the petrol at a specific ratio. So by running the engine as lean as possible you also begin to starve the moving parts of any lubrication as there is less oil entering the internal parts of the motor. Anyway, that's the basics, without getting 'too deep' into the science behind it all. I hope I've answered your questions without boring you too much with long explanations...lol.

course is too narrow for those speeds and having slower classes running with you. you had no where to go. I have notice while watching many of you videos, you keep messing with your helmet. this kills your concentration.

That track is awesome, and id love to take my kart around it just a few laps just because of the tracks history. I dont think thats going to happen though as my karts are 125cc tag.

@@JoeBribem he has a very stiff setup, he has a slightly tighter line than the number 20. It seems he can hold the line better and tighter so I'm assuming it's a very stiff setup.
Is there multiple classes running at once in superkart? The speed difference you have with some of the other drivers is insane during a race! And is the incident to blame on either of you? Without any mirrors, can you still blame the slower kart ahead for taking the apex? Unfortunate accident but good from you to keep it out of the wall, those tyrewalls werent looking that friendly from your onboard.
Where do they get the 2stroke engines.. Tm dirtbikes? Any 4 strokes in karting?
Yes there are 4 strokes in karting, there are the clone motors and I race uas karts (unlimited all stars) and it’s pretty much a super kart on dirt. We run 250 two strokes and 450 4 strokes. I have ran a kart with a crf 450 and my kart is a cr250
@@Gertdirt69 cool... I read yamaha is selling the yz 2 stroke engine as a crate engine now. How is your shifter set up... Hydraulic actuator on the engine case?
@@BobbyGeneric145 my set up is different then the super karts because we mostly stay in one gear, so it’s like a foot shifter that has a long rod that attaches to it. It comes up a little bit higher than the seat

I race in a 4-stroke motor specifically made for karting. It’s called the lo206 and they are awesome for starting out in karting.
thanks for that a lot of memories , i guess this was a 250 nat race , you had a strong motor , but the chassis looks way to stiff by the way it reacts to the kerbs , the quickest part of the track was allways through craner , but i saw that you were pulling near the same into mclaens
